Bioidentical Hormone Replacement

Hormone replacement therapy is the preeminent treatment option for addressing hormone deficiencies and imbalances and eliminating adverse effects caused by suboptimal hormone levels. Age Better Miami offers a range of leading hormone replacement therapies like bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Providing patients with an effective, medically driven solution with a personalized approach.
Most often, hormone imbalances result from lifestyle factors and the aging process. We do extensive baseline testing to target important aging hormones like testosterone and estrogen. We even look at your mental acuity when performing our cognitive assessment. Hormone imbalances can affect everything from sexual performance to memory, attention span, and executive function.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

BHRT utilizes hormones with chemical structures identical to hormones your body naturally produces. The fundamental difference between BHRT and other commonly prescribed synthetic hormones, such as Premarin and Provera. Most synthetic hormones are not perfect matches to your hormones, increasing side effects.

BHRT can be tailored to your needs, restoring your hormones to optimal levels.

Optimizing hormones in both men and women has decreased cholesterol levels and protects the brain against protein deposits that eventually lead to Alzheimer’s disease. People using BHRT will notice an improvement in their anxiety and energy levels and their physical and mental health.

Hormone Pellet Therapy

With hormone pellet therapy, a small pellet is implanted in the skin to provide the body with a steady supply of hormones. At Age Better Miami, we offer this treatment to help patients overcome hormone deficiencies and symptoms and live as well as they can for as long as possible.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy has been used for years to address hormone imbalances in men and women of all ages. These hormones are made from natural sources and look chemically identical to the hormones your body produces naturally. They also react differently in the body than traditional synthetic hormone combinations. Bioidentical Hormones can be administered through creams, pills, injections, and pellets.

Hormone pellets are tiny pellets, about the size of a grain of rice, that are placed just under the skin in the fatty tissue of the buttocks. This is a quick, in-office procedure with minimal downtime.

The efficacy of the inserted pellet is 3-4 months. These pellets will eventually dissolve, and the insertion process will be repeated to maintain even optimized hormone levels in the body. Dosing levels and re-insertion timeframes are calculated based on each patient’s needs, symptoms, medical history, and underlying lab values.

Hormone pellets can positively influence a variety of undesirable symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances in men and women, including, but not limited to:

  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Low libido
  • Depression
  • Weight issues
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Decreased energy
  • Urinary symptoms
  • Low sexual satisfaction
  • Menopausal symptoms
  • Poor muscle development

What Is The Process Like?

The therapy includes a quick, easy insertion of pellets into the sub-dermal layer—the area below the skin—on the upper area of the buttocks.

We begin by injecting a numbing medication to make the pellet insertion pain-free. Patients will feel a slight pinch from the numbing injection, but the medication gets to work quickly.

After the area is numb, a unique tool is used to insert the pellets in the correct location, selected for optimal absorption. Once the pellet is inserted, we place a steri-strip, or surgical tape, over the injection site. The steri-strip should remain over the injection site for
three days.
